Project Description

This project is part of an implementation research project funded by Gavi in 3 countries. This internship is based in Cote d'Ivoire, whose local research partner has identified an interest in hosting a student intern with skills and competencies in mixed methods.

Scope of Work

The student will have the opportunity to work with country-based research partners and implementation teams to support quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis around integrating HPV vaccines with adolescent health services. These may include:
•        Quantitative data collection/analysis of a household level survey to measure knowledge, attitudes and practices around HPV vaccines and integrated services
•        Applying the ingredient method to assess program implementation costs
•        Qualitative data collection/analysis of in-depth-interviews with adolescents, caregivers, health workers, and influencers to learn about the feasibility, acceptability, and sustainability of the integrated adolescent service package

This will be an in-country placement between May and July and involve working closely with JHU/Jhpiego global technical assistance team and local research partner (ENSEA). Lead investigators supporting the project will provide day to day mentorship and oversight and student will also be embedded into routine meetings and data collection/analysis activities.

Required Skills

Required: Coursework in quantitative and qualitative methods, survey methods, conducting basic/mid-level analysis STATA, qualitive coding using software (Atlas/NVivo/Dedoose)
Preferred: Experience in implementing research protocols, administering informed consent processes, and participating in data collection.
